Job Description

What’s so great about working on Calendly’s Product team? We strive to design a seamless product experience that delights our customers.

Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Senior UX Writer to join our Design team who is user-focused and passionate about designing thoughtful experiences to set users up for success. You’ll work to create simple & intuitive experiences that provide clarity and delight for our users, and work with our Product Design and UX Research teams to see your solutions realized.

A day in the life of a Senior UX Writer at Calendly

The Design Team at Calendly is a tight knit group of creatives made up of product designers, UX writers, and UX researchers working closely with Product Panagement and Engineering to craft amazing experiences for our users. We believe that great design starts with talking with our users, and that the best solutions come from interdisciplinary collaboration.

Calendly is scaling its offerings in ways that will impact the efficiency of millions of people around the world. This is an opportunity to join a team and lead efforts that will face these challenges head-on.

On a typical day, you will be working on:

  • Writing clear and compelling in-app content (microcopy, help, tips, error messages) for web and mobile applications
  • Conducting research and/or collaborating with UX Research to refine content and iteratively evolve the user experience
  • Creating and editing copy across the product to maintain tone of voice and consistent style
  • Working closely with designers, researchers, developers, product managers, and marketers to understand user goals, and craft meaningful, clear content that will guide users through an experience
  • Establishing best practices for feature nomenclature, information hierarchy, and messaging experiences

What do we need from you?

  • 5+ years creating and building content experiences
  • A strong portfolio of work delivering content & messaging experiences
  • Thorough understanding of UX principles, inclusive design, and content best practices
  • Familiarity with user research practices (prefer experience with conducting card sorts, tree tests, highlighter tests, or other content research)
  • Experience writing for accessibility and localization
  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean development processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

We know that not all applicants will meet all of these requirements. We value diverse experiences and career paths, so even if you don’t meet all of these requirements, please apply anyway!

What’s in it for you?

Ready to make a serious impact? Millions of people already rely on Calendly’s products, and we’re still in the midst of our growth curve — it’s a phenomenal time to join us. Everything you’ll work on here will accelerate your career to the next level. If you want to learn, grow, and do the best work of your life alongside the best people you’ve ever worked with, then we hope you’ll consider allowing Calendly to be a part of your professional career.
