Job Description
Deel is transforming from a suite of products into an intelligent OS for work. That transformation requires not just a new product vision, but a fundamentally new way of designing and building. As Experience Operations Lead, you will report directly to the Chief Design Officer and drive the execution and coordination of the tools, systems, and processes that make this possible. This is a founding role — you will define how design, product, and engineering teams operate together, and raise the bar on quality, speed, and innovation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Execution: Coordinate and execute across design systems, tooling, and product foundations to ensure the right systems are in place and teams are aligned and moving.
- Pioneer New Ways of Building: Lead the shift to next-generation product development, including AI-assisted design, intent-to-code pipelines, and human-and-agent collaborative workflows, driving real business value through faster, higher-quality delivery.
- Raise Quality at Scale: Define and drive quality standards across the product experience, partnering with design systems, product, and engineering to ensure consistency and craft at every layer.
- Enable Deel Speed: Identify bottlenecks, reduce friction, and build the operational foundations that let teams move fast without sacrificing quality.
- Build Alignment: Partner with design, product, and engineering leadership to align on tools, standards, and processes that scale across a large, distributed organization.
- Shape the Practice: This is a founding role. You will define what experience operations means at Deel and lay the foundation for a growing function.
Requirements
- Ops and Delivery Experience: Significant experience in design operations, product operations, or a closely related field, with a track record of coordinating and executing systems and processes that scale.
- Design Systems Fluency: Deep familiarity with design systems, component-based development, and the design-to-code pipeline. You understand all sides and know how to accelerate at quality.
- Collaborative and Cross-functional: A strong operator who thrives at the intersection of design, product, and engineering. You build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and bring teams together around shared standards.
- AI and Emerging Tech: Genuine curiosity about and hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows, generative UI, or agentic development tooling. Experience driving adoption of these capabilities is a strong plus.
- Builder Mindset: You are energized by building from scratch. You are comfortable with ambiguity, drive clarity through action, and prioritize ruthlessly in a fast-moving environment.
- Quality Obsessed: You have a strong point of view on what good looks like and the operational instincts to make it the standard, not the exception.
- Data-Informed: You use data to diagnose problems, measure progress, and make the case for investment. You build feedback loops that keep the org honest.
