Job Description

Join our customer’s team as an OR Specialist and leverage your expertise in operations research and C programming to design and implement advanced optimization solutions. In this pivotal role, you will develop mathematical models to address complex business challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making—all while working remotely in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mathematical and optimization models in C for solving complex operational challenges such as passenger itinerary optimization, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze large datasets to uncover inefficiencies and deliver actionable, evidence-based recommendations for process improvement.
  • Design, validate, and test algorithms and simulation models using robust computational and statistical methods.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand objectives, gather requirements, and translate goals into effective optimization projects.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations to communicate findings, model results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current with developments in optimization methodologies and C programming best practices, continuously enhancing analytical models and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of professional experience in operations research, modeling, or optimization roles.
  • Strong proficiency in C programming for the development of mathematical and optimization models.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex datasets and distill actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity while proactively collaborating with a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or resource allocation optimization within a dynamic business environment.
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages or optimization tools (e.g., Python, Gurobi, CPLEX).
  • Published research or practical solutions in the field of operations research.
