Job Description

Successful businesses think globally – but complex compliance challenges create significant barriers to global operations, forcing teams to spend vast amounts of time, money, and energy on administration instead of strategic priorities.

Traditional compliance approaches are too slow, vague, and expensive for modern business dynamics. That’s why we’ve built the platform that automates compliance and duty of care for business travel, workations, and international assignments.

Our vision: A world where global business knows no borders – where compliance is effortless, so growth has no limits. To fuel that vision, we recently closed a €37M Series B – and we’re now building the team to match our ambition.

Your role in this mission: We’re seeking a hands-on Legal Counsel to take ownership of day-to-day legal topics across the company. This is our first dedicated legal hire — ideal for someone with 3–6 years of experience who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is excited to build structure, improve processes, and support the business pragmatically. You’ll be the go-to person for internal legal questions while building scalable legal foundations from the ground up.

🎯 What you will do

Commercial contracts

  • Review and manage customer contracts (MSA, DPA, NDA, etc.), handle redlines, and support negotiations where needed
  • Maintain and improve contract templates to reduce friction and speed up deals

Legal operations & structure

  • Clean up, centralize, and build a scalable contract framework with standardized clauses and templates
  • Ensure legal documentation is easy to use for internal teams (sales, CSM, etc.)

Product legal

  • Maintain Terms of Service, disclaimers, and legal product frameworks, ensuring a clear and consistent legal setup
  • Translate input from the Compliance Research Center into contractual structures

Data protection & privacy (GDPR)

  • Maintain DPA templates, support DPIAs, and handle customer questions related to data protection
  • Work with product and engineering on data-related topics

Legal risk & insurance

  • Manage company insurance policies (D&O, cyber, liability) and support handling of claims or legal issues
  • Coordinate with external lawyers when needed

Internal legal support

  • Review vendor and partner contracts, support employment-related templates, and assist with internal policies (remote work, conduct, etc.)
  • Act as the go-to person for day-to-day legal questions across all teams

⭐ What you need to succeed

  • 3–6 years of legal experience, with a background in commercial, tech, employment, or privacy law
  • Experience at a law firm or in-house (both are fine)
  • Strong attention to detail, but pragmatic in approach — comfortable handling a high volume of small legal questions
  • Able to work independently, take full ownership, and build structure from scratch
  • Fluency in English and German

🚀 Why join us at WorkFlex

  • Contribute to building the future of the fastest-growing HR tech startup in Germany backed by prominent customers such as Scout24, Vodafone, BioNTech, and others, as well as funding from top-tier VC and angel investors.
  • Competitive salary and VSOPs (Virtual Stock Options) to share in our success.
  • A monthly budget of €200 to spend on 🏢 co-working space and/or 🏃‍♀️ sports subscriptions.
  • Work from anywhere in a remote-only company and go on workations for up to 183 days a year.
  • Merit-based culture with substantial growth opportunities.
  • Trust-based work – organize your own schedule. We want to celebrate results, not hours spent working.
  • Collaborative team culture where everyone’s input is valued to shape sales efforts, approaches, and processes.
