🚀 Your mission as a Director of Payments
As the Director of Payments at Ancient Gaming, you’re not just managing transactions; you’re the Guardian of the Treasury, ensuring smooth, secure, and swift payment adventures! Your mission is to strategize, innovate, and optimise our payment realm to keep both the company and our gamers happy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Craft and execute payment strategies that fuel our company’s growth and align with our financial goals. This includes more novel payments approaches in territories where digital payments are limited.
  • Oversee and optimise our payment systems, from digital wallets, credit card processing, bank transfers and alternative payment methods. Implement robust fraud detection and risk management practices including intelligent rules for risk and approval of payment transactions, focusing on letting good actors play interrupted whilst quickly stopping bad actors from causing harm.
  • Build relationships with payment service providers and financial institutions. Negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable payment processing.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, and lead any relevant audits such as PCI:DSS.
  • Drive initiatives to expose payment data to our data warehouse so that transaction monitoring, success rates and other trends can be identified and reported up to the Executive team.
  • Work alongside the Product team to implement new payment functionality both on the front-end to improve transaction metrics, and back-end to improve routing and B2B payment flows.
  • Build and lead an operational payments team working with finance, product development, and customer support, to ensure a seamless payment experience for our users.

Job requirements

You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • Experience of at least 4 years in payment systems management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing technologies, financial systems, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Proficiency in managing various payment methods and platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with payment analytics and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • In-depth knowledge of payment industry regulations and standards, including PCI-DSS, GDPR, and AML.

It will be good if you have:

  • Experience working within the gaming industry or a similar high-growth tech environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Payments Professional (CPP) or similar credentials.
  • A passion for emerging payment technologies and trends, with the ability to drive innovation within the payments space.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools to manage complex payment projects and initiatives.
