This short-term, 4–6 week project-based internship offers African students studying abroad a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives across Africa while gaining meaningful professional experience.

This offers the opportunity to intern in-person if you’re based in Abuja, Nigeria or Johannesburg, South Africa, or virtually from any part of the world. 

We currently have two confirmed internship roles, with more to be announced soon. Each role provides a chance to work closely with innovators tackling real challenges in sectors such as technology, business, and sustainable development.

Who Can Apply:

  • African undergraduate or graduate students studying abroad
  • Available for a 4–6 week virtual or in-person internship during Winter 2025
  • Passionate about solving real-world challenges in Africa’s tech, urban design & development, data, or sustainability sector

Strategy Fellow (HealthTech) — Johannesburg, South Africa

Our partner is a fast-growing HealthTech company based in Johannesburg, South Africa, leveraging technology to improve access to quality healthcare across Africa. The team works at the intersection of health, data, and innovation—building scalable solutions that drive equitable health outcomes.

As a Strategy Fellow, you will support the leadership team in identifying growth opportunities, refining operational models, and driving strategic initiatives across key business areas. This fellowship is ideal for analytical, impact-driven students eager to explore how technology and strategy intersect to solve real health challenges. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support business planning, performance tracking, and internal reporting.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships, funding, and expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align strategic priorities with operational execution.
  • Present insights and recommendations to the leadership team.

Design, Culture & Marketing Intern — Abuja, Nigeria

Our partner is an Architecture firm exploring how design, architecture, and storytelling can strengthen education, innovation, and community life across Africa. Through digital media, exhibitions, and community-based projects, the team uses creativity to inspire inclusive development and cultural pride.

As a Design/Culture/Marketing Intern, you will support initiatives that merge design thinking, cultural expression, and digital storytelling. This role is ideal for students passionate about how creativity and communication can drive social impact. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research on the intersection of design, technology, and community development.
  • Support creative programs and campaigns, including exhibitions, workshops, and digital storytelling.
  • Develop visual and written content for social media and marketing platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers, educators, and creatives to showcase local innovation and culture.
