Job Description

The Collaborations Communications Intern supports the Collaborations, Chapters, and Communications teams in identifying, documenting, and communicating the work, stories, and impact emerging from Catalyst Now’s regional and global collaborations. The role provides communications and storytelling support to help ensure key activities, achievements, milestones, and learning are captured and shared effectively.

The Intern assists with reviewing meeting notes, project updates, presentations, and other materials to identify compelling stories and evidence of impact. The role also involves following up with collaboration leads and team members to gather relevant information, quotes, images, and other content, and transforming complex information into clear and engaging narratives. The Intern supports the development of collaboration summaries, website stories, newsletters, social media content, case studies, and impact stories.

This position provides valuable hands-on experience in communications, storytelling, and impact reporting within a global social impact organization, while contributing to the visibility of Catalyst Now’s collaborations and helping communicate the work and impact of its members, chapters, and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities Will Include:

Collaboration & Story Scouting

• Stay close to the Collaborations and Chapters teams to identify relevant activities, achievements, milestones, and emerging stories.
• Review meeting notes, project updates, presentations, and other materials to identify compelling stories and evidence of impact.
• Support the identification of collaboration activities and outcomes that could be communicated internally or externally.
• Help maintain an organized overview of stories, updates, and communications opportunities emerging from collaborations and chapters.

Content & Story Development

• Assist with turning complex project information into clear, engaging, and accessible narratives.
• Follow up with collaboration leads and team members to gather information, quotes, images, and other relevant content.
• Support the drafting of collaboration summaries, website stories, newsletters, social media content, case studies, and impact stories.
• Assist with gathering and organizing supporting materials and evidence for communications content.
• Find the human stories, key moments, insights, and impact behind ongoing collaborations.
• Turn complex or technical information into clear, accessible, and engaging narratives.
• Develop stories that highlight what is happening, who is involved, why it matters, and what difference it is making.
• Identify opportunities to spotlight regional and global collaborations, Chapter initiatives, partnerships, events, and emerging impact.

Creative Communications & Storytelling

• Explore creative formats for communicating collaboration stories and impact, including simple graphics, presentations, short videos, and other digital content.
• Support the development of visual and multimedia content that helps bring collaboration activities and stories to life.
• Assist with adapting stories and content for different audiences and communication channels.

Internal & External Communications Coordination

• Coordinate with Collaborations, Chapters, and Communications team members to gather updates and support content development.
• Support the development of communications materials for internal audiences, including team updates, collaboration summaries, briefings, and internal storytelling.
• Develop content for external audiences, such as website stories, social media content, newsletters, partner communications, case studies, and impact stories.
• Adapt stories and messages for different audiences, platforms, and formats.
• Support the Communications team with copywriting, editing, proofreading, and content development.
• Help create concise summaries and compelling narratives from longer or more complex source materials.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Interest or experience in social impact, systems change, collaboration, partnerships, communications, or community-led initiatives
• Fluency in English
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn ideas and information into engaging content
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with an eye for visual storytelling
• Experience or comfort creating content across different formats, including stories, social media posts, simple graphics, presentations, short videos, and other visual content
• Comfort working with digital content creation, presentation, and collaboration tools
• Strong organisational and project-tracking skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• High attention to detail and reliability
• Creative, curious, and resourceful, with a willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and compellingly to different audiences
• Ability to find creative ways to communicate the impact of Catalyst Now’s collaborations
• Strong ability to work collaboratively and adapt content for different platforms and audiences
