Job Description

Catalyst 2030 offers our Interns the opportunity to work with colleagues from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate will have previous background in operations, accounting/ finance, human resources, or relevant areas in operations management.

As part of the Operations Team, the intern will be responsible for supporting the streamlining of the operations for the Catalyst 2030 movement. This includes assisting the team in several of the following areas: an effective resource management system for our financial control; ensuring an effective governance protocol is in place; and facilitating a streamlined movement oriented human resource system.

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting the Operations team with the execution of day-to-day Operational tasks and deliverables including : assisting with the planning and implementing our key outputs in the financial, HR and logistics management, event planning and management, vendor management and contracting and ongoing reporting..
  • Assisting with various Human Resources Management tasks including: job posting and recruitment, supporting the team with streamlining and managing onboarding processes; planning training programmes for team members; and working closely to support with the coordination of strategic engagement opportunities for the Secretariat team.
  • Supporting various finance-related tasks including the management of project budgets, monitoring day-to -day expenditures and donor reporting among others.
  • Working closely with the operations team to support coordinating travel arrangements for the team and Catalyst members, including booking flights and accommodation, obtaining visas and providing logistical support.
  • Supporting the Operations team with the coordination and preparation of key committee and council meetings, including assisting with drafting preliminary agendas, action points and minutes.
  • Assist with preparing drafts for and implementing organisational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and organisational requirements and conducting research where necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings and maintaining files and records.
  • Working with other teams across the Catalyst 2030 Secretariat.
  • Other ad hoc tasks.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, in a fast-paced environment and across time zones.
  • An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances.
  • Preference for graduate degree completion and 1-3 years prior experience.
  • Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a team, with a hands-on, positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and global digital environment, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Flexibility and the ability to easily adapt to new tasks and assignments that might be given at short notice.

Location

After COVID, we adopted a distributed organisational model with the ability to hire a diverse team. This position is remote and can be carried out from most regions that have some overlap with CEST working hours (minimum of 4 hours per day with CEST).
