Job Description
At TradeZella, we’re on a mission to empower 1 million retail day traders to become consistently profitable. We believe the future of work blends smart systems, deep focus, and continuous learning—and our first Operations Generalist will help us build exactly that.
As our first operations hire, you’ll take ownership of recruiting, onboarding, team processes, and culture. You’ll also champion the use of AI to boost productivity—and help foster a team that’s not only great at their jobs, but excited to become better traders too.
You’ll also support our efforts around privacy, security, and compliance—helping ensure we scale responsibly as we grow.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit & hire: craft job ads, source talent, run a fast and fair process, and close top candidates—building a high-performance, high-ownership team.
- Design remote onboarding: ensure every new hire feels welcomed, productive, and aligned with our values from day one.
- Build & document smart processes: From onboarding checklists to expense policies, you’ll create frictionless, repeatable processes.
- Automate ops: Identify repetitive workflows and replace them with scripts, software, or smart AI agents. We don’t do manual if we can help it.
- Own privacy & security operations: Get us up to speed on GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, and other frameworks. Work cross-functionally to ensure our systems, processes, and vendor relationships meet the highest standards of data protection and compliance.
- Plan team meet‑ups & virtual events: Create meaningful moments that bond a remote team—logistics, budgets, experiences.
- Encourage a trading-curious culture: Coordinate initiatives that help the team learn trading fundamentals and understand the mindset of our users.
- Tackle ad‑hoc ops challenges: Vendor contracts, swag orders, last-minute logistics—no challenge too random.

What You Bring
- 5+ years in operations or people ops at a fast-paced, remote-first company.
- A track record of owning projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.
- Clear communicator—both written and spoken—and async by default.
- Love for clean processes, strong documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Curiosity (or experience) in AI tools and automation. You’re either hands-on with tools like Zapier, Notion AI, GPT, etc., or excited to dive in and experiment.
- High EQ and discretion—you handle sensitive situations with care.
- Strong interest or experience in privacy, security, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2). You may not be a specialist—but you’re ready to take ownership and learn fast.
- Bonus: Interest in trading, investing, or financial markets.
