Pay4Me is looking for a Backend Engineer to join our remote team. For this role we’re only considering applications in the European timezone (+1 GMT). We’re on a mission to improve the experience of international students, schools, businesses, and organizations to send and receive payments seamlessly across borders. To do so, we need to build beautiful software products. We always look at products end-to-end when we build something new, and love to keep our users front and center regardless of which part of the product we’re building, so we are not only looking for a person who knows how to work with Laravel, but someone who is able to have empathy for our users and wants to build the best possible products possible.

We’re tackling some ambitious and exciting projects, and we are looking for a colleague who can help us succeed with the mission – not just solve development and support problems. We are looking for someone who is pragmatic and a team player, someone who knows the best practices, but also knows when a custom solution is required. For this role you will be working on Payments, Global Transfer and Virtual Cards products, which are being developed by our core team. We are looking for someone who is able to work with a team, as you will be working alongside another developer in this particular role – which also means there are high expectations and a lot of potential for both personal and professional growth.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in similar roles.
• Experienced with PHP  & Laravel framework.
• Experienced with PHPUnit & PestPHP.
• Experienced with FilamentPHP.
• Experienced in building, documenting, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Experienced in optimizing queries for high performance using SQL and MySQL.
• Experienced with third party API integrations.
• Experienced in working closely with large-scale and modular monolith applications.
• An eye for detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Being comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving, and remote environment.
