We are seeking a creative and upbeat Social Community Manager to help craft our tone, start conversations and make real-time content Duolingo’s social media presence. As a core member of our growing marketing team, you are someone who is glued to the twitter timeline and loves creating content that engages, entertains, and inspires.

The ideal candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, and collaborates well with others.

What you’ll do…

  • Own the voice of our brand replies on YT Shorts, TikTok, Instagram, Threads Twitter – responding to the community in Duo’s tone
  • Stay up to date on social trends and news stories and identify opportunities for Duolingo to participate in the conversation
  • Prioritize surprise and delight initiatives with known community moments (people using the app for love, celebrating streak milestones, starting the app and getting into it)
  • Find and implement QUICK unique ways to react to cultural moments that tie to our app and go viral 
  • Use social listening tools and native platforms to analyze and find conversation opportunities for Duolingo in social media
  • Find exciting ways to engage with our community, including creating UGC moments for campaigns
  • Have fun with Duo’s tone on social, being agile and creative about how the brand shows up
  • Suggest daily topics for real-time content and brainstorm with the larger marketing team
  • Work closely with the social and creative teams to make low-lift content for Twitter and Instagram
  • Report on key campaigns and initiatives, gathering metrics and evaluating performance for the team

What we’re looking for…

  • Someone who is active across multiple social platforms – including TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Someone who is available 40hrs a week on an hourly basis
  • 1-2 years community management experience with a brand on social or strong personal tone on social media
  • Copywriting experience, ideally with a focus on comedy
  • Someone who is attuned to the diversity of our learners and wants to connect with the community

Exceptional candidates will…

  • Have production or experience and are intimately familiar with in-app creator tools across social platforms
  • Have proficiency in multiple languages
